SR. PROCESS ENGINEER (Position No. 13.5.1 and 13.5.2)

Qualification:

BSc degree in Chemical Engineering.

Experience:

12 years of experience in upstream oil & gas on-shore and off-shore processing facilities, NGL gas

processing units, crude oil & condensate refineries and gas plants as Senior Process Engineer.

Good knowledge of process engineering calculations/ simulation software and project

management.

Should have good English communication skills both written and spoken. Must have good

interpersonal skills in dealing with professional engineering contractors, vendors, Government

Authorities and other entities.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

· Reporting to Lead Process Engineer in Process Division of the Technical Services

Department.

· The jobholder carries out Feasibility and Conceptual studies of all approved Project

Initiation Notes (PINs) to evaluate, screen and recommend opportunities for

debottlenecking, expanding, optimizing, upgrading and enhancing QP’s business and

operations.

· The job requires participating in techno-economic studies to select optimum process

scheme(s), prepare Scope of Work (SOW) for various projects and participate in the

selection of appropriate consultants, engineering companies and licensors. Work involves

both Technical and Commercial evaluation of Bidders.

· The job is of a critical nature that requires technical knowledge related to process

engineering technical support, feasibility studies, plant and project economics and plant

operation and problem solving expertise.

· The jobholder coordinates, leads and carries out conceptual and techno-economic studies

for minor and major projects in house or thru external Consultants.

· Develops, finalizes scope for techno-economic studies by Consultants and Engineering

companies and direct consultants activities to ensure works are carried out in accordance

to the plans and within agreed schedule and cost.

· Liaises with various licensors to evaluate new technologies, catalyst and chemicals to

improve plant configurations, reduce operating cost, improve plant flexibility and enhance

product qualities.

· Provides specialized process engineering support to Engineering & Projects Division in

developing design basis for new projects.

· Assistance to both asset holders and implementing departments in Onshore/ Offshore

engineering/ Major Projects department for implementation of Feasibility Study

recommendations.

· Provide technical advice and engineering support to QP operations with respect to process

related issues. This advice includes de-bottlenecking of facilities and trouble shooting

problems arising from the existing Oil & Gas Facilities. This is done through Request for

Engineering Support (RES) raised by Operations Engineering.

SENIOR ARCHITECTURAL ENGINEER (Position No. 5.2.17)

Qualification:

Bachelor degree in architectural engineering.

Experience:

12 years or more of postgraduate experience in the design of large building related to

infrastructure and layout. Experience in design and construction work; prepare scope of works and

specification, knowledge in reviewing and recommending a large range of building materials is

essential. Proven technical competency in architectural design works commonly practiced in

design of buildings and infrastructure projects, and ability to carry out safe and fit for purpose

designs. Thorough knowledge of industry/international standards and ability to interpret the same

for specific applications. Experience in the Arabian Gulf is desirable.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

· Review and approves contractor’s architectural engineering deliverables (drawings,

calculations, specifications, method statement, material submittal, and the like.) for ECS,

FEED and EPIC contracts to ensure compliance with latest codes, standards and company

requirements.

· Prepares in-house architectural engineering documents for FEED and detailed designs for

projects where necessary to meet operational defined milestones and deadlines.

SENIOR DESIGNER (FACILITIES) (Position No. 5.2.5)

Qualification:

Three year course in a technical diploma in mechanical engineering.

Experience:

10 years or more of post diploma experience including 5 years in oil & gas industry at a senior

level. This experience should include a minimum 3 years of experience as senior piping designer

for offshore oil and gas production facilities. Ability to operate Computer Aided Design

(AUTOCAD). Good communication skills. Knowledge of industry and international standards

relevant to piping/mechanical design. Good presentation skills.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

· Prepares Concept design drawings for assigned projects in co-ordination with senior

process, piping/mechanical or facilities engineers as per Company’s drafting standard

ES.D.10.

· Prepares detailed design drawings for in-house Front End Engineering Designs (FEED)

and detailed design drawings for fast track projects.

· Prepares detailed design drawings for in-house detailed design for the works received

through the Miscellaneous Work Request System

APPENDIX A

· Conducts field verification and site surveys of the project sites prior to commencing design

work. Liaisons with offshore operation and maintenance staff to gather information and

data relevant to the project.

· Disseminates information on company standards, applicable numbering system to QP

specifications.

· Reviews relevant technical proposals and submissions from the consultants with the

discipline Engineer.

· Ensures compatibility between piping and structural elements of the offshore facilities.

· Estimates and reports to Lead Facilities Engineer on the man-hour requirement for each

assigned project to enable the Lead Facilities Engineer to plan the work.

· Arranges for printing of drawings as requested by Discipline Engineers.

· Participates in technical meetings with consultants to provide guidance and ensure

compliance with QP procedures.

· Plans, co-ordinates and controls work to ensure that delivery schedules are met.

· Maintains records of all conceptual and detailed design work, ‘as built” survey work.

· Assists discipline engineers in preparation of technical comments on design submissions

from Consultants and Contractors.

· Assists in review of Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Site Acceptance Tests (SATs).

· Retrieves process and piping/mechanical drawings from archives, design office as required

for the assigned project.

· Provides Training for Qatari Piping/Mechanical discipline Engineers on AutoCAD,

Document Retrieval.

· Reviews and approves Contractor’s piping/mechanical design/engineering Drawings with

respect to ES-D-10 requirements for ECS, FEED, EPIC and PIC Contracts to ensure

compliance with latest ES-D-10 within the due date given in ASSAIWEB

· Generally responsible for the deliverables listed in Appendix-I.
